The Sound It Series is having a little fun with particular words by utilizing a technique typically employed to increase reading and comprehension. It also serves as a way to punctuate what is being said. Say it slowly and phonetically.

These phonetic spellings of the word mimic the African language often used in Akan Folktales with Anansi the Spider, the Akan God of Stories, Wisdom, Knowledge, and trickery. He is also one of the most important characters of ,  and . Originating in Ghana, West Africa, these spider tales were transmitted to the Caribbean by way of the transatlantic slave trade.

It also mirrors the way that I personally pronounce things in my Southern accent by way of Augusta & Atlanta GA.
